Audie Smith is from Memphis Tennessee. His style is similar to that of several pianist. This may seem like a joke to many, but Audie has a little bit of Phineas Newborn, and a touch of Cedar Walton in his playing, emphasis on (little bit).  Audie studied these pianist as well as many others like Bill Evans, and Oscar Peterson, whose styles are quite different.  In the contemporary/smooth Jazz world Audie tries to emulate guys like Bob James, Jeff Lorber.

Audie started his career briefly playing in Denice LaSalle’s band and local bands around Memphis. Audie played with a Stax Funk band from Jackson Mississippi called (Sho Nuff Band), He also played behind John Black Foot who was a member of the original (Soul Children) group from Stax.

Audie’s music is Traditional and Contemporary, sometimes both at the same time. Some of it can be called Smooth Jazz.  Audie has done several C.D.’s of his own, and one with his group, (Prime Cut). All of his C.D.’s are available in the usual places, itunes, spotify, etc.

Audie has opened shows for several artist, like (Main Ingredient, and Oleta Adams, and Roy Ayres).
